Mara: Where are the Polka Dot Bloomers! Just 35 degrees here! I would be a challenge folding my load!

The good old days of the clothe line. We had one back on the farm!

I remember the clothesline from back in the old days.  Now I think it is becoming vogue again because it is much greener than the dryer.  Cute photo.

I love crisp white linen....great picture!

Mara - it has been a while since I have seen a clothes line. It is a cool photo.

There is nothing quite like the smell of clothes dried on an outside line.  I used to hate hanging clothes out for my Mom but now I miss the smell of line fresh clothes.

You make me feel guilty!    Still have to do this!

Okay Okay....I'll get my butt in gear and do my OWN WASH...it's making me feel guilty.  Great photo!

Oh yes, the fresh air.  Spring is in the air and time to get outside, including the laundry.

Your photo took me back to a time when hanging clothes on the line was the norm...ahhhh! Fresh, clean-smelling linens! Thanks for the memory Mara!

Hi Mara, What a great photo! I can still smell the sunshine on the sheets!

Mara, oh I so miss clotheslines in many neighborhoods, when life was simpler, and everyone wasn't so politically correct with HOA's and such. They seem to have gone the way of drive in movies.

Loved the photo.  I remember our backyard 50 years ago and all the freshly laundred clothing han ging there. . . and, of course my Mom yelling at us kids, "get away from the laundry or I'll smack you a good one."  Thankd for the memory.

I remember having a clothes line growing up as a kid but have not seen one in a while. I am sure they smell April fresh:)

Gwen - that's funny! Spring in full bloomers!

Chuck - there were some good old days back then, a lot more now, I think, with dryers.

Audrey - It's not exactly a timesaver, but it only uses free and natural energy!

Karen - glad you enjoyed this. I saw this while driving (on a sort of main road), and did a u-turn...something just pulleed me into this scene.

Sharon - Thanks for stopping by. :-)

Debra - there seems to be something comforting about a line of clean clothes...

June - I know exactly what you mean...

Sea to Sky - well get those clothes out to dry!

Claire - Life loves clean clothes! :-)

Tony - Spring will hopefully bring all the buyers out too!

Wanda - Thanks for stopping by to see these clothes dry. :-)

Mary - and there's nothing like sleeping on sun-kissed sheets!

Gary - yes, those darn HOA's...but we sure don't miss all those boats and old fixer-upper cars on the front lawn (do we?) LOL ;-)

Tom - Kids shouldn't keep the memories of mom yelling...just remember you had some great-smelling, clean clothes! LOL :-)

Bill - I was always holding my breath in those movies where they anchored the lines between buildings and used a pulley...can you imagine that? Oopen windows in tall buildings? (btw, these smell March fresh ;-)

Hi Mara,

I too am one who grew up with a clothes line in the backyard, and it does bring back memories. It also brings back memories of all the things you can do with a wooden clothes pin - but that's a different post.  ; )

Thanks for sharing.

Michael, that's so funny you mention the clothespins, cuz I was thinking of all the crafts I used them for over the years when my kids were young---and thought, well, this IS a SPEECHLESS post! LOL! thanks for stopping by.

Mara, now all we need is a kid riding through it with a bike and a video camera.

Mara! An old fashion clothesline! What a delight to see! Thanks for sharing this.

I love to hang things out to dry in the summer.  Our neighborhood has a "no clothesline" line in our deed restrictions, but I have one small one that I put up and down when I am in the mood.  But, I would never hang my undies out for all to see!  How embarrassing!  It's really a great photo.  I love whites!
