Getting a HOME INSPECTION is a very important step in the purchase of a home. Whether new construction or a resale property, hiring a state licensed inspector is always recommended. A list of local inspectors is available from your Realtor, and you can check the state website for a complete list of licensed Home Inspectors.

A Home Inspection is extremely valuable when thinking of purchasing a home. I know of several people who are very sorry they didn't get one. That little tyke is way too cute. You just gave me an awesome advertising idea.
Great advice and really no excuse for not spending a couple hundred dollars when that much money is at stake.
Hi Mara, Wonderful advice - still I like your little Halloween poster child the best! SO CUTE!!!
Hi Mara, I wouldn't purchase a home without one. What a good home inspector can find can be invaluable in making your decisions whether or not to purchase that home. Happy Halloween!!
I don't know if they get much more adorable then that! :-)
It always scares me when buyers say they don't want an inspection!
Mara... The single best item of advice we can offer a buyer is get a home inspection...discover any issue that may exist, know what may be needed down the road, and protect yourself for a missed disclosure item.
I agree (no big surprise, I am an inspector after all).
BUT, you've got the wrong link up there. You've got a link to one of the smaller home inspection associaton websites instead of the
STATE OF ALAMBAMA HOME INSPECTOR WEBSITE!
Your existing link just gives a list of the few who belong to that home inspection Association, NOT all of the inspectors in Alabama.
PS:
By the way, you might want to make your links set to "open in a new window" so it doesn't take people away from your blog, just opens the link in a new window.

Thanks for stopping by Suesan. Have fun with your ad!
Hi Mary, I like your new pic!
Carole - you're so right about that. A home inspection is invaluable.
Liz - thanks for lighting up my blog :-)
Laura - I agree... especially in Alabama, one of the last 2 "Buyer Beware" states.
Steve - thanks for stopping by and emphasizing the importance of home inspections.
Erby - Thanks for the complete list and the tip (which I had checked, but think I'm having trouble with my browser)
Thanks Mara :-)
Mara, home inspections are indeed, very important. Is that little cutey yours????
Mara, you are spot on. It behooves all REALTOR to counsel their buyer clients about the importance of home inspections
hey Connie, I need to come by & catch up with you! Yes, that is grandson Lyric, last year.
Hi Lloyd, I think we are all agreeing on this important checklist item for purchasing a home. Thanks for stopping by.
Mara: Well worth the money to get an inspection. I don't think I would buy a home without an inspection and I would probably have my home inspected before I put it up for sale just so I could fix anything that might need it.
And remember what happened in old Troy with new construction: The Trojan horse was new but someone should have inspected it.
OK, love the photo! If I wasn't going to get an inspection I think seeing that face would make me reconsider. I wouldn't want to disappoint him.

Another good resource for home inspectors is the Alabama Home Inspector Directory
