OPELIKA HALLOWEEN PARADE GOES TO THE DOGS

This year was the 4th Annual Howl'oween Dog Parade and costume contest in downtown Opelika. Besides all the fun and entertainment, the event benefitted Rescue K9-1-1, an orgaization that is dedicated to the rescue of lost and homeless animals in the community.

I am not an advocate of putting clothes on dogs, but have to admit that these dogs were adorable!

Oh those are wonderful, and such a near and dear to my heart cause, but I can't believe - seeing where you work, that there isn't a single Aubbie doggie  :)

They are awfully cute, and they don't look embarassed at all.  Bless their little hearts for having patience with their people friends!

Hello Mara,

What a fun event for everyone....and all for a great cause!!  I would have had a terrific time seeing all the pooches in costumes.  I'm not an advocate of putting clothes on dogs either...but they sure do look cute!  Thanks for sharing all the photos!

Mara - Loved this post.  I'm so happy I came across it.  We have an annual parade each year for the children in our neighborhood and I was amazed at the number of people who brought their dogs in costume too.  They were so adorable.  I would have never guessed that their was an actual Halloween doggie parade held anywhere.

I think these are great examples of why dogs hate Halloween!  Very cute though!

Hi Mara love the pictures, as long as the pet doesn't mind. I dress mine all the time and you can just tell when she doesn't want it.

Love the pics - a little cowboy dog trick or treated at my door this year, I was cracking up, he had a little saddle bag for candy - so cute.
