House Hunting Roommates - When Pets Are People Too!

When helping Buyers find a new home, I've learned how important it is to consider the needs of each family member, especially the dogs! Depending on their size and vitality, these roommates seem to prefer wood flooring and plenty of yard room. Trees are a big bonus! ALL of them require plenty of streaming sunshine, and windows for "watching." These Buyers wanted to begin their home search with a view of a DREAM home, so they could carry the dream into their "starter" spot, and are now super-motivated to get started!

Who is Moses? Moses George Hogan??

TODAY, at 2:00 the Auburn University Gospel and Chamber Choirs present
THE MOSES HOGAN MEMORIAL FESTIVAL
in Auburn
Admission is FREE!

Who is Moses? Moses George Hogan??

Way after the biblical Moses, and just before there were musical Blues, African American folk songs worked on the railroads, picked bales of cotton, and sang softly in the night.  These songs of slaves, also called African American spirituals, were, essentially, songs of tears. While they expressed a spiritual devotion, the songs were drawn from depths of sorrow. Much of the music gives voice to the prayers and anguish of a people, a culture, resonant with undertones of early land development in what not yet had been named 'the land of the free.'

Moses George Hogan (1957 - 2003) was a highly prized director, conductor and master of choral arrangements. An acclaimed African-American pianist, his extensive works celebrated American spirituals, also known as folk songs. His vast library of original arrangements for these songs, opened doors to a greater comprehension and preservation of the African-American musical history. Hogan brought these folk songs to life. With over 70 published works, choirs all over the world select his arrangements for their repertoires.

Music is transformative and   informative. In culture, it can pave a pathway, for letting the heart hear what the mind can not. It has the power to pick up pieces of us that are broken and restore places in our collective history that need mending. America bears the scar of slavery. Separateness in culture leaves each of us less than whole, and it's the stories we share and sing that can strike chords that cleanse and inspire the places in our own hearts, longing for wholeness, for freedom.

The program festival will also include performances by the Tuskeegee University Golden Voices Concert Choir, the Smiths Station High School Chamber Choir, and the Chatahochee Valley Community College Concert Choir.

The venue is St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, located on north College Ave, just south of Shug Jorday Pkwy. For further information, visit the Music Department website.

What is up the sleeve of Google?

What is up the sleeve of Google?

Inman News posted some BIG NEWS this morning, that Google will no longer support real estate listings on their classifieds listing site. On February 10th, the Google feature for real estate won't work for you! Dashed are dreams of a globetrotting strategy for advertising your home for sale, but if you find an address,

then snap! the maps will still give you directions to my house.

"Consumers will no longer be able to find for-sale, foreclosure, or rental properties through the search function on Google Maps, and real estate professionals will no longer be able to upload their listings to Google Base, the company's classifieds site, which is being replaced by Google Shopping APIs and will not support real estate listings." full story here

So what is up their sleeve?  Certainly, there's no lack of imagination--- or is there? Is this a hat trick?  You have my full attention, Google. I'm not even going to blink or sneeze. I'll be waiting, vigilantly, for whatever it is you plan to pull out of your sleeve. A big reveal for real estate? It's just too much information NOT to play with!

ANIMAL RIVALRY - Auburn Tigers vs Oregon Ducks

TODAY, January 10, 2011 at 7:30 PM CST, the National title for the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is on the line. This series showcases the best teams in college football, designed to pit the top two teams in America, against each other in the national championbship game, and the rivaling teams are the AUBURN TIGERS and the OREGON DUCKS.

The Auburn Tigers have been in the national arena before, winning a national title--- but the year was 1957

It's time to score again!

I think it's quite an achievement, just to have a place in this arena, so congrats to Tiger and Duck fans everywhere, for cheering your teams on to the National Championship game.

Last night's ice storm has everyone huddling into their favorite sports bar and warming up with duck wings and team spirit, awaiting the kickoff, broadcasting live on ESPN from Glendale, AZ, where the other half of the Auburn fans have traveled, and will fill the stadium.

It will be exciting and highly entertaining, and, as always, I'll be cheering for the team with the highest score!

WAR EAGLE!!!
